A small North Carolina community rallied together Thursday to keep an out-of-state radical atheist group out of their school district.
The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation had filed a complaint with the Rowan-Salisbury School System about an elective Bible study course that is funded by an outside group. When the community learned of the complaint, the next meeting of the board of education was standing room only.
Almost everyone attending favored retaining the program, according to WCNC (H/T Western Journalism).
"In God's name I pray that y'all do the right decision and keep Bible in the schools," one citizen said.
