Greetings,
Thanksgiving, we love the experiences we have every year as the people are so blessed, on the last night we were able to give out some fluffy ankle sock to the women, which some of the men wanted but we only had enough for the girls…
We gave out many stocking hats….
We gave out what coats we had and of course many more are needed…
We gave out all the blankets and sleeping bags we had, along with a tent…
The same with some hygiene items and a couple of pair of gloves, what we have we gave and so many more are needed.
But people enjoyed the family time as love, Messiah's love was the most important thing given out. You see we do not have as much as others but what we have we give from the heart…and that is what counts…
What do we need now, well as you can see we need gloves, coats, hygiene items, cold medications, blankets, KJV large print Bibles, and well the people need what you need right?
The Mission Church after having so many well house guests is running low on everything or out…like toilet paper, plates, cleaning supplies, etc…
We need to buy some vegetables and pasta for dinners as well as meat…
Other things that could help to bring funds in…as many postage stamps as we can get, 300 to 500 would be great J
Let me add to this post I sent out
" Then coming home and finding that the state sent me a notice that the ministry storage property tax exempt filing will be canceled because NO ONE told me to send in a $400 fee! They say I have a couple of days to send them or take them $400…I have no money it was all spent the last 4 days on Thanksgiving, if they reject the already ok by the county tax exempt filing then we owe instantly 3 years back taxes and that means If I do not have tax money then they auction the property because it is 3 years behind….."
Ok yes we are a church and not a corporation so we are tax exempt but because we have no federal tax exempt corporation number we have to prove we are a church, a load of garbage but that is the way it is…so we bought a property here where we live at and currently are using it for storage mostly, as we gather things like clothing etc and have to store it somewhere before taking it to Wichita 60 miles away..at some point it will be made livable but need's much before anyone could live there completely…
So as it belongs to Messiah's Branch we filed for tax exemption and it took me almost 3 years to get it filed as I was unsure really how to do it. Finally I did and it was not as hard doing it here in the county we live in because those at the local court house know what we do etc…
They recommended to the state the grant the exemption…which then I can use that to lose taxes on the other things owned by Messiah's Branch like the bus for one…
Ok the county did not tell me we had a filing on time fee of $400, the state says we have to pay it like ASAP or they reject the filing…which means the 3 years worth of property taxes are then due like right now, or they put it up for auction next month..(I could ask my wife how much that is because I am not sure I think either right at maybe $380 something or it could even be a little over $400 a year, we owe 3 years)
After Thanksgiving we are broker than broke as we head into December which is generally the lowest donation month of the year, getting a newsletter out to our supporters soon before income tax time could help with funds dramatically as some on our mailing list think we have went belly up because they do not use the net, hard to believe but yes some still do not…putting a newsletter in 300 plus people's hands could really help we just need postage..
In HIS Perfect Peace,
Pastor Dan Catlin
