Europe's woman on a beast
Why is a woman from a Greek myth all over the European Union? Who is she? Who or what is the bull she is riding?
Click here for our YouTube video and find out!
In this video, shot in Brussels and Strasbourg, I examine the spiritual side of the EU Referendum argument. What does the EU's classical paganism mean for the UK? Just who is taking us where?
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (KJV)

Assad's military claims to have seized Israeli arms shipment in S. Syria
by DEBKAFile
April 28, 2016, 10:28 AM (IDT)
Syrian army sources claimed Wednesday that they had ambushed and captured a group of vehicles packed with Israeli weapons in the southern part of the country. The sources did not say specifically that the shipment came from Israel but pointed out that the weapons and ammunition were marked with Hebrew writing, indicating their source.
The sources also failed to specify the exact location of the ambush, only saying that the vehicles were travelling in the area of Swaida, the main Druze city in the Jebel Druze area of southern Syria.
The ambush was said to have been carried out after the authorities were tipped off by local residents about the movement of suspicious vehicles in the area. Syrian military sources reported that the vehicles carried Israeli mines, RPG rocket launchers, B9 guns, various types of mortars and hand grenades.
DEBKAfile's military sources point out that this report is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the secret war in southern Syria that involves at least 10 regional actors: the US, Russia, Syria, Iran, Hizballah, Jordan, Israel, the Syrian rebels, the Nusra Front and ISIS.

This speech I agree with 100%,I ask myself, can any other Candidate make such Commitment? I doubt it.
Trump emphasizes 'America First' in rare foreign policy speech
by DEBKAFile
April 27, 2016, 9:59 PM (IDT)
Frontrunning US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump laid out the main points of his foreign policy in a 45-minute speech in Washington on Wednesday.
The main points were as follows:
A Trump administration will pursue a policy of "America First." According to the candidate, US President Obama and former Secretary of State Clinton concentrated on building up other countries while the US has deteriorated and lost the respect it deserves. He said "we're getting out of the nation-building business" but expressed readiness to help other nations if they contribute to the effort. The Republican frontrunner said Obama and Clinton focused on protecting other countries' borders without protecting those of the US, calling their foreign policy "a complete and total disaster"
Under a Trump administration, he said, every foreign policy step would be based on the interests of the US and the American people. The US has to conduct its foreign policy based on an understanding that other countries have to abide by Washington's rules, and every country that seeks US military and economic assistance needs to cooperate, according to the candidate. He stated that the rebuilding of the US military's strength would be a main part of his foreign policy.
Regarding ties with Moscow and Beijing, Trump said "I believe an easing of tensions…with Russia, from a position of strength only, is possible," and that "China respects strength," but the US has lost all respect by "letting them take advantage of us."
The real estate mogul also slammed Obama and Clinton's Middle East policy, accusing them of creating chaos that allowed Russia, Iran and ISIS to step into the void. He said Obama and Clinton transformed Iran into a "great power" in the Middle East and vowed that "Iran would not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon."
Trump cited Israel as an example of what he called the damage that Obama has caused to US foreign policy. He asserted Obama is not a friend of Israel and accused the president and Clinton of pushing regional allies such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt away from Washington.
Regarding the war on ISIS, Trump said "Their days are numbered. I won't tell them where and I won't tell them how. We must as a nation must be more unpredictable." He vowed to fight all terror organizations and radical Islam, and said NATO needs to be rebuilt so that it can conduct the war against ISIS and Islamic radicalism.

Germany: "We Need an Islam Law"
Proposal seeks to ban foreign funding of mosques in Germany
by Soeren Kern • April 28, 2016 at 5:00 am
§ "All imams need to be trained in Germany and share our core values. ... It cannot be that we are importing different, partly extreme values from other countries. German must be the language of the mosques. Enlightened Europe must cultivate its own Islam." – Andreas Scheuer, the General Secretary of the Christian Social Union party (CSU).
§ The Turkish government has sent 970 clerics — most of whom do not speak German — to lead 900 mosques in Germany that are controlled by a branch of the Turkish government's Directorate for Religious Affairs. Turkish clerics in Germany are effectively Turkish civil servants who do the bidding of the Turkish government.
§ Erdogan has repeatedly warned Turkish immigrants not to assimilate into German society. During a trip to Berlin in November 2011, Erdogan declared: "Assimilation is a violation of human rights."
The Cologne Central Mosque, run by DITIB, is used as a key base in Germany for Turkey's intelligence agency, where they run a local "thug squad" to mete out "tough punishments" to Turkish dissidents in Germany. (Image source: © Raimond Spekking/CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons)
A senior German politician has called for an "Islam law" that would limit the influence of foreign imams and prohibit the foreign financing of mosques in Germany.
The proposal — modelled on the Islam Law promulgated in Austria in February 2015 — is aimed at staving off extremism and promoting Muslim integration by developing a moderate "European Islam."
The move comes amid revelations that the Turkish government is paying the salaries of nearly 1,000 conservative imams in Germany who are leading mosques across the country. In addition, Saudi Arabia recently pledged to finance the construction of 200 mosques in Germany to serve migrants there.

Turkey's Fake War on Jihadis
by Burak Bekdil • April 28, 2016 at 4:00 am
§ Last year, a Turkish pollster found that one in every five Turks thought that the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris was the natural response to men who insulted Prophet Mohammed.
§ "Infidels who were enemies of Islam thought they buried Islam in the depths of history when they abolished the caliphate on March 3, 1924 ... Some 92 years after ... we are shouting out that we will re-establish the caliphate, here, right next to the parliament." — Mahmut Kar, media bureau chief for Hizb ut-Tahrir Turkey.
§ At a March meeting with top U.S. officials, King Abdullah of Jordan accused Turkey of exporting terrorists to Europe. He said: "The fact that terrorists are going to Europe is part of Turkish policy and Turkey keeps on getting a slap on the hand, but they are let off the hook."
§ And Turkey is the country its Western allies believe will help them fight jihadists? Lots of luck!
Turkey's Religious Affairs General Directorate (Diyanet), the ultimate official religious authority in the country, recently issued comic books to the nation's children telling them how marvelous it is to become an Islamic martyr.
In theory, Turkey is part of the international coalition that fights the Islamic State (IS). Since it joined the fight last year, it has arrested scores of IS militants, made some efforts to seal its porous border with Syria and tagged IS as a terrorist organization. Turkish police have raided homes of suspected IS operatives. More recently, Turkey's Interior Ministry updated its list of "wanted terrorists" to include 23 IS militants, and offered rewards of more than 42 million Turkish liras (more than $14 million) for any information leading to the suspects' capture. But this is only part of the story.
On March 24, a Turkish court released seven members of IS, including the commander of the jihadists' operations on Turkish soil. A total of 96 suspects are on trial, including the seven men who were detained but released. All are free now, although the indictment against them claims that they

The Death of Free Speech: The West Veils Itself
by Giulio Meotti • April 26, 2016 at 6:00 am
§ The West has capitulated on freedom of expression. Nobody in the West launched the motto "Je Suis Avijit Roy," the name of the first of the several bloggers butchered, flogged or jailed last year for criticizing Islam.
§ Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, sided with the Turks. She condemned the German comedian's poem, called it a "deliberate insult," then approved the filing of criminal charges against him for insulting the Turkish president.
§ The West is veiling its freedom of speech in the confrontation with the Islamic world: this is the story of Salman Rushdie, of the Danish cartoons, of Theo van Gogh, of Charlie Hebdo.
§ Iran's foreign minister, Javad Zarif, just released an interview with Italy's largest newspaper, Il Corriere della Sera, where he suggested a kind of grand bargain: We Iranians will discuss with you our human rights situation, if you Europeans suppress freedom of expression on Islam.
Theo van Gogh (left) was murdered by an Islamist because he made a film critical of Islam. Salman Rushdie (right) was lucky to stay alive, spending many years in hiding, under police protection, after Iran's Supreme Leader ordered his murder because he considered Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses "blasphemous."
Last week, Nazimuddin Samad sat at his computer at home and penned a few critical lines against the Islamist drift of his country, Bangladesh. The day after, Samad was approached by four men shouting "Allahu Akbar!" ("Allah is great!") and hacked him to death with machetes.
These killings have become routine in Bangladesh, where many bloggers, journalists and publishers are being killed in broad daylight because of their criticism of Islam. There is a hit list with 84 names of "satanic bloggers." A wave of terrorism against journalists reminiscent of that in Algeria, where 60 journalists were killed by Islamist armed groups between 1993 and 1997.
But these shocking killings have not been worth of a single line in Europe's newspapers.

Palestinians: Insulting Religious Minorities
by Khaled Abu Toameh • April 26, 2016 at 4:30 am
§ The Samaritan incident reveals as well how the Palestinian Authority (PA) treats religious minorities in the Palestinian territories. The tiny community of Samaritans in the West Bank now faces a tough choice: continue living with the Palestinian Authority and accept its intimidation, or relocate to a safer locale.
§ In yet another blow to Palestinian Christians, the PA recently rejected demands to consider Easter an official holiday.
§ The PA has had a long-standing policy of combating "normalization" with Israelis, and this is but one unpleasant example. Yet this campaign is directed not only against Jewish settlers, but also against Jews who live inside Israel proper.
§ Showing their true colors, the activists do not hesitate to attack even Jews who are supportive of the Palestinians. Thugs assaulted people indiscriminately, including film crews, European activists and even Palestinian participants.
Pictured above: Samaritans near Nablus celebrate their Passover holiday in April 2014.
What happens if you arrive at a religious ceremony and discover that your Jewish neighbors are also on the guest list?
Well, if you are a representative of the Palestinian Authority (PA), you get up and leave. No matter if such a move insults your hosts: the main thing is not to sit with Jews, especially if they are from the settlements.
This embarrassing incident took place last week near the Palestinian city of Nablus, where members of the tiny Samaritan community gathered to celebrate their own Passover. The Samaritans are an ethnoreligious group in the Levant, originating from the Israelites of the ancient Near East.
Things went well for about two minutes on Mount Gerizim, one of the two mountains in the immediate vicinity of Nablus. That was how long it took for the Palestinian guests to walk out in protest at the presence of representatives of the Jewish settler community and IDF officers.

Turkey: Container Cities, Uprooting Alevis, Fear of Infiltrating Jihadis
by Uzay Bulut • April 26, 2016 at 4:00 am
§ "This is a policy of forcing Alevis to immigration and dissolving the Alevi population," said Gani Kaplan, the head of the Pir Sultan Abdal Alevi Cultural Association. "We are not against immigrants, but it is impossible for us to live alongside jihadists in the same village."
§ The province of Sivas is also a terrible choice by the government to build another container city for "refugees": Alevis in Sivas have already been exposed to a deadly attack there at the hands of Islamists.
§ "After the attempt to build a refugee camp in the middle of the Alevi villages... where the [1978] massacre happened -- is it a coincidence that you are building yet another refugee camp in the predominantly Alevi town of Divrigi in Sivas -- where the [1993] massacre... took place? What is the objective of all of that?" — Zeynep Altiok, an MP from the Republican People's Party (CHP).
§ The denial of the Alevi faith seems to be an effective way of assimilating Alevis into the Islamic culture or making them "invisible." There are also other methods -- such as trying to change the demographic character of the predominantly Alevi places by building container cities in the middle of Alevi villages.
Turkish gendarmerie forces attack Alevi villagers with tear gas near Maras, April 3, 2016.
Since late February, locals from the predominantly-Alevi populated villages in the province of Kahramanmaras, or Maras, have been protesting government plans to build a "container city" (housing made from used shipping containers) in their villages supposedly for the Syrian "refugees."
There are 16 Alevi villages in the region where the container city for "27,000 refugees" is being built by the Prime Ministry's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The villagers are deeply concerned that militants might infiltrate, and that the container city "could be turned into a human resources department of jihadists such as ISIS and al-Nusra."
The Alevis in Turkey are a persecuted religious minority who have been exposed to several massacres and deadly attacks -- in both the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey.

A Russian Air Force MiG-31 jet intercepted a US spy plane near Kamchatka in Russia's Far East last week, flying within 15 meters of the aircraft. Washington downplayed the incident, saying it was carried out in a "safe and professional" manner.
The MiG-31 (NATO code name Foxhound) is a Soviet-design supersonic interceptor, the world's fastest aircraft in service today. It got to within 15 meters of a US surveillance plane, which was flying in international airspace near the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
"On April 21, a US Navy P-8 Maritime Patrol reconnaissance aircraft flying a routine mission in international airspace was intercepted by a MiG-31 Russian jet in the vicinity of the Kamchatka Peninsula," Cmdr. Dave Benham, a spokesman for the Pacific Command, told the Washington Free Beacon.
However, rather than kicking up a fuss, Benham added that the maneuver was carried out in a "safe and professional" manner.

Syria: Russia's continuing war - BBC News
All the signs are that as the partial truce in Syria fails and the peace talks falter, the Russian military and its Syrian allies are gearing up for a new offensive in and around Aleppo.
Last week, the Pentagon said forces loyal to the Syrian government were beginning "to mass and concentrate combat power around Aleppo."
The US spokesman said: "It is primarily [the] al-Nusra [Front] who holds Aleppo, and, of course, al-Nusra is not part of the cessation of hostilities. So it's complicated. We're watching it."
