What Will You Do When You Can No Longer Buy Or Sell Without Submitting To Biometric Identification?

In some areas of the world, payment systems that require palm scanning or face scanning are already being tested.  We have entered an era where biometric security is being hailed as the "solution" to the antiquated security methods of the past.  We are being promised that the constant problems that hackers are causing with our credit cards, bank accounts, ATM machines and Internet passwords will all go away once we switch over to biometric identification.  And without a doubt, we have some massive security problems that need to be addressed.  But do you really want a machine to read your face or your hand before you are able to buy anything, sell anything or log on to the Internet?  Do you really want "the system" to be able to know where you are, what you are buying and what you are doing at virtually all times?  Biometric security systems are being promoted as "cool" and "cutting edge", but there is also potentially a very dark side to them that should not be ignored.

In this day and age, identity theft has become a giant problem.  Being able to confirm that you are who you say that you are is a very big deal.  To many, biometric security presents a very attractive solution to this problem.  For example, the following is a brief excerpt from a recent Fox News article entitled "Biometric security can't come soon enough for some people"…

In a world where nearly every ATM now uses an operating system without any technical support, where a bug can force every user of the Internet to change the password to every account they've ever owned overnight, where cyber-attacks and identity theft grow more menacing every day, the ability to use your voice, your finger, your face or some combination of the three to log into your e-mail, your social media feed or your checking account allows you to ensure it's very difficult for someone else to pretend they're you.

Almost everyone would like to make their identities more secure.  Nobody actually wants their bank accounts compromised or their Internet passwords stolen.  But there is a price to be paid for adopting biometric identification.  Your face or your hand will be used to continually monitor and track everything that you do and everywhere that you go.  Here is some more from that Fox News article…

Friday, we made Ryan King the most verified man in Brooklyn.

"Verified," a fingerprint-recognition device chirped back at Ryan after he placed his finger on the reader.

"Verified," a facial-recognition device said to Ryan after scanning his face.

Ryan works at the American headquarters for FingerTec, a Malaysian company replacing PINs, usernames, and typed passwords with fingers and faces we don't need to memorize.

"You can't copy someone's fingerprint unless you chop it off," Ryan said, "which wouldn't work because it has to be attached to a hand."

For now, biometric security is not being forced on people.  If you want to avoid it, you can.

But eventually, once it has been adopted on a widespread basis, banks and government agencies will start requiring it.

Putin's spokesman: One more NATO step toward Russia to change European security structure

1028631 (1)

NATO's further enlargement and "one more step towards the Russian border" will cause "the entire European security architecture to be overhauled", presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the TVC television channel's "Pravo Znat" (The Right to Know) programme to be aired on Saturday evening, April 19.

He said that NATO's further enlargement would pose a serious threat to Russia because "NATO cannot stop being a military organisation" and "Russia will have to take measures to ensure its own security".

Speaking about Ukraine's possible admission to the alliance, Pskov said that "the military-political future of this country, we hope, will not envision such membership for the time being.

Confronting Both Russia and China 'Strategic Mistake' for US – Russian Lawmaker

The United States runs the risk of making a huge foreign policy blunder by simultaneously antagonizing two major world powers, Russia and China, a senior Russian lawmaker said Monday.

– The United States runs the risk of making a huge foreign policy blunder by simultaneously antagonizing two major world powers, Russia and China, a senior Russian lawmaker wrote on Twitter Monday.

"For the United States, Russia is an enemy and China is a potential enemy. But the confrontation course with both major powers is a strategic mistake," Alexei Pushkov, who chairs the foreign affairs committee in Russia's lower house, wrote.

US President Barack Obama denied last month that Moscow was Washington's number one geopolitical foe, calling Russia "a regional power that is threatening some of its immediate neighbors, not out of strength but out of weakness."

Washington's relations with Beijing have also become strained, given a new US strategy in the Asia-Pacific region to contain China. During Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's recent visit to Beijing, his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan said that efforts to contain China would never succeed.

In remarks to Obama's statement, Pushkov said by calling Russia a "regional power," the US leader showed "the depth of his despair over the growing international role of Russia from Siberia to Ukraine."

The fate of Crimea, formerly an autonomous republic within Ukraine and part of Russia since last month, has triggered the most serious geopolitical showdown between Moscow and the West since the end of the Cold War.

MOSCOW, April 21 (RIA Novosti) – The United States has revised its approach toward Russia away from cooperation in favor of a new Cold War, said Veronika Krasheninnikova, Director of the Center of International Journalism and Research with the International News Agency Rossiya Segodnya.

The shift was detailed in a New York Times article published Monday describing Washington's roadmap for the future of US-Russia relations. The new approach, it says, is an "updated version of the Cold War strategy of containment."

"The article can be safely regarded as [Washington's] new official strategy that it will pursue with regard to Russia," Krasheninnikova said.

"It sounds like a declaration of a new Cold War," she added.

According to the article, Washington's new Russia strategy echoes the approach set out by US diplomat George F. Kennan in 1947, in which the US attempted to isolate the Soviet Union by cutting off its economic and political links to the outside world, while cooperating with Russians where it was unavoidable.

The journalist believes that the Obama administration will spend the next couple of years trying to minimize the disruptions that Russia may cause in response.

Krasheninnikova said the Ukraine crisis was the last straw that changed Washington's attitude towards Moscow.

US to Revoke Aid to PA Over Threats to Dismantle?

State Department official hints that financial aid, political support for the Palestinian Arabs to be 'seriously harmed' if PA disbanded.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas threatened to dismantle the PA on Sunday, in a move which would dissolve the Oslo Accords and allegedly make Israel "vulnerable" to international legislation, according to some analysts.

But the move could have serious consequences for Palestinian Arabs, not Israel, in the event the PA chooses to disband.

Europe and Israel

Published: Tuesday, April 22, 2014 12:36 AM

Interview with Prof. Uriel Rosenthal, former Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld

Israel would do well not to view Europe as an antagonistic unity.
"Political support for Israel in the Netherlands has strongly declined in recent years. The only two parties which fully support Israel are the small Protestant SGP which has three seats out of 150 in the Chamber and the Freedom Party (PVV) led by Geert Wilders, which is entirely isolated however, both in the Chamber and in the Senate."

Professor Uriel Rosenthal has taught Political Science at Leiden University. From 2010 until 2012, he was the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs. He became a Senator for the VVD (Liberal Party) in 1999 and headed its Senate faction from 2005 until 2010.

Rosenthal says, "The relationship between Israel and the European Union is continuously tense. This is not only a question of national politics, but also of the personal preferences of government members."

"Among the 28 E.U. member states, one recognizes a number of patterns as far as attitudes toward Israel are concerned. Northern European countries, for various reasons, can hardly be considered pro-Israel. In those countries, a mix of social and political attitudes plays a role as well as personalities who shape the content of foreign policies.

"Ireland takes a clearly pro-Palestinian stand. This is often explained by the previously common background of the IRA and the PLO.

"It was possible for me to arrive at a common position on Israel with Belgium, even if it was sometimes difficult. The current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg has taken a very pro-Palestinian position. I assume that there were differences of opinion on this issue in that country's government.

"On the southern side of Europe, successive Italian governments had positive positions toward Israel. For Spain and Portugal, this was far less the case. Greece has been preoccupied with itself for many years already. Malta has to take into account its Arab 'neighbors.'

"Several central European countries are often pro-Israel. This is true for the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Romania. For Hungary, this is less so. As far as Poland is concerned - it looks for strategic coalitions, thus from time to time its position is disappointing. The three Baltic states are certainly not a priori against Israel.

Richard Allen is a Modern-day Jewish Hero

Standing up to the UJA is not easy, but he has done it.

Mark Langfan

The writer, who specializes in security issues, has created an original educational 3d Topographic Map System of Israel to facilitate clear understanding of the dangers facing Israel and its water supply. It has been studied by US lawmakers and can be seen at www.marklangfan.com.

Richard Allen is New York City Jew, and the founder of JCCWatch.org.  And, Richard Allen is a modern-day Jewish hero.

Richard Allen and his JCCWatch.org keep close tabs on the leftist-leaning Jewish American  New York City organizations which often secretly support virulent anti-Israel events.

Allen's most recent target is the New York City Jewish Federations that are "welcoming" American Jewish organizations who actively support the Boycott-Divest-Sanction (BDS) movement against Israel.

Richard organized a recent hugely successful demonstration in front of the Jewish Federation building on 59th Street in Manhattan.  Over 200 people show up and chanted anti-BDS slogans and help anti-BDS posters.  The JCCWatch.org demonstration has garnered huge media attention including a full page article in the New York Post by Andrea Peyser  on April 18, 2014, entitled "The Mideast war here at home."

US Supreme Court to Decide on Jerusalem's Status

Can the US president declare Jerusalem as Israel's capital?

The US Supreme Court Monday decided to hear the case of an American born in Jerusalem, once again taking up the sensitive issue of the status of the contested city, according to AFP

The justices will hear arguments in the case in the fall before deciding on the constitutionality of a 2002 law that directs the State Department to give Israel as the country of birth in passports of Americans born in Jerusalem.

At the center of the struggle between the Congress and the presidency is Menachem Zivotofsky, who was born in Jerusalem in 2002 to two American parents.

His passport says "born in Jerusalem" but his parents want Israel added to the place of birth, putting them at odds with the State Department.

Jerusalem is Israel's capital, but the international community repeatedly refuses to recognize it as such.

In 2002, president George W. Bush signed the bill declaring Israel as Jerusalemites' nationality into law, but he added a signed statement condemning it as unacceptable interference in the president's powers to conduct foreign policy.

In March 2012, the top court ruled that the Zivotofsky suit was legally admissible, without pronouncing on the underlying issue.

After the case was thrown out twice - most recently, in June - the Court will decide this time whether the president alone has the authority to say who Jerusalem belongs to, in the eyes of the United States.

The Obama administration argued at a hearing in November 2011 that to list Israel as the country of birth would be tantamount to recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the country.

Fundamentally Freund: Israel needs a 'Posse Comitatus Act'

By MICHAEL FREUND

In a country that cherishes freedom, a way can and must be found to keep the military from being used for law enforcement purposes.

Border Police in Yitzhar [file]

Border Police in Yitzhar [file] Photo: REUTERS

Earlier this month, IDF soldiers carried out a furtive and well-planned operation that should raise the ire of every Israeli citizen who values individual rights and personal liberty.

After a spate of incidents involving some of the residents of the Jewish community of Yitzhar, near Shechem (Nablus), which included slashing the tires of army vehicles and the destruction of a military outpost, security forces raided the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva on April 11.

A battalion of Border Police commandeered the structure, erected barbed wire around the perimeter, and transformed it into a makeshift base.

According to the IDF spokesman, the building was seized "in light of the violent actions against security forces in recent days and to meet security needs."

"The yeshiva building," the spokesman laconically insisted, "was chosen out of operational considerations and will serve as a frontal base from which to combat violent attacks against Palestinian villages in the area and against security forces."

This is absolute hogwash. There is no moral or principled justification for the military to take over a privately- run yeshiva and treat its faculty and students like medieval serfs who belong to the lord of the manor. It is an unprecedented assault on civil liberties, and a frightening display of contempt for the rule of law and human dignity.

Some Interesting Points but I don't agree with all his Assertions but this Articles goes to show how ridiculous it is to expect a real genuine peace to occur between the two sides.

The Kerry charade

Let's call it what it is.

The US has used its muscle to get Israelis and Palestinians to discussions that neither of them wanted.

Both sides speak and deal with one another all the time. It's part of living side by side, with pockets of one inside the other, and no clear boundaries. Arabs with Israeli citizenship ponder their identities and loyalties. Some Israeli Jews with more than one passport question the validity of Arab/Palestinian divided loyalties, without considering their own situation.

What defies solution is a general agreement, covering boundaries, refugees, Jerusalem, Israel's legitimacy and an end to Palestinian claims.

Obama's Origins Resurface At Intel Expert's Trial

541-michael-shrimpton

In a nearly empty courtroom at the Southwerk Crown Court by the historic London Bridge, a hearing took place in a criminal case that not only has national security implications for the United Kingdom, but, curiously, is woven into the increasingly bizarre fabric of the controversy over Barack Obama's presidential eligibility.

When it came his time to speak, defendant Michael Shrimpton, a middle-aged London barrister by profession and self-proclaimed intelligence expert, politely issued to the judge a series of interrogatories that made clear he plans to launch a vigorous defense, representing himself before the court.

The criminal charges brought by the British government against Shrimpton under Section 51(2) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 accuse him of falsely notifying the British government to prepare for a terrorist nuclear attack on the 2012 Olympics in London that the British government claims had no basis in reality.

It's the same Michael Shrimpton who appears in a 2008 video that began re-circulating earlier this year on the Internet in which he claims to have been privy to shocking intelligence information on Obama's origins. Shrimpton contends to this day that the CIA collected DNA from then-Sen. Obama and a grandparent, establishing that Stanley Ann Dunham was not Obama's biological mother.

The video naturally has raised questions about Shrimpton's credibility and his qualifications to make such an extraordinary claim.

Meanwhile, Shrimpton has been indicted for having telephoned in 2012 the secretary of state for defense in London and declaring that a nuclear weapon stolen from the Russian submarine Kursk that sank in the Barents Sea on Aug. 12, 2000, had been smuggled into Britain.

Shrimpton said the smugglers were agents of a top-secret German intelligence agency that intended to detonate the weapon to cause massive damage and murder members of the Royal family and top government officials attending the London Olympics.

Postponed trial

On March 17, in a courtroom devoid of news media except for WND, a short-tempered Senior Circuit Judge Alistair William McCreath, a resident judge based at Southwark Crown Court, surprised the Crown Prosecution Service and the defense by postponing Shrimpton's trial until Nov. 10.

It was originally scheduled to begin that day.

The postponement meant any issues Shrimpton wants to pursue in his defense will not be aired in court until after the November mid-term elections in the U.S.

Government intelligence experts on both sides of the Atlantic marginalized Shrimpton as a loud-mouthed nuisance and gadfly who lacks professional credentials as an intelligence expert. But McCreath, nevertheless, dismissed a prosecution motion to order Shrimpton to undergo a psychiatric examination, making it clear a trial on the merits would take place.
