The White House is distancing itself from slanderous comments by an unnamed Obama administration official on Wednesday, after the official was quoted by Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic as having called Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu "chickens**t", as well as "recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous, and 'Aspergery."
"Certainly that's not the Administration's view, and we think such comments are inappropriate and counter-productive," said Alistair Baskey, a spokesman for the National Security Council, stated Wednesday.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu and the President have forged an effective partnership, and consult closely and frequently, including earlier this month when the President hosted the Prime Minister in the Oval Office."
Baskey further explained away the comments - which follow strong criticism from the US State Department against Israel building Jewish homes in Jerusalem - by saying that 'disagreements' between the two governments have been blown out of proportion.
"Obviously, despite the extremely close relationship between the U.S. and Israel, we do not agree on every issue. For instance, we have repeatedly made clear the United States' longstanding view that settlement activity is illegitimate and complicates efforts to achieve a two-state solution," he said.
"The U.S.-Israel relationship remains as strong as ever, our security bonds have never been greater, and the ties between our nations are unshakable. We remain fully and firmly committed to Israel's security. And, Prime Minister Netanyahu has repeatedly affirmed that he shares the U.S. view that the best solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is to establish two states living side by side in peace and security."
The remarks caused an instant firestorm from Israeli public officials, with several MKs lashing out at the Obama administration over its "chutzpah" and one former ambassador stating that US-Israel relations were in the midst of a serious crisis.
Netanyahu himself responded directly to the personal attack earlier Wednesday, during a special Knesset session marking 13 years since the assassination of Tourism Minister Rehava'am Ze'evi (also known by his nickname "Ghandi") by Palestinian terrorists.
"When there is pressure on Israel to give up on its security the easiest thing is to give up," he said. "As prime minister I stand for the security of Israel. The life of every single citizen and soldier matters to me, and I am not prepared to make compromises that will endanger our country."
"Our interests are not on the minds of those who attack us or me personally," he emphasized. "The attack on me comes because I defend the State of Israel, and despite all the attacks I will continue to defend our country and the citizens of Israel."

Obama Knows PA State Rockets Would Attack Tel Aviv
There is no lack of brains or information behind the US demand that Israel create a Hamastan in Judea and Samaria.

In the context of Obama and Kerry putting intense and irrational pressure on Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria (the "West Bank") and being humiliated by the publicly-announced rejection of his request for VIP meetings in Washington DC, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon just gave an interview in the Washington Post where this conversation took place:
Lally Weymouth (interviewer): "Will territorial concessions bring peace?"
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon: "No, they would be another stage of the Palestinian conflict, as we experienced in Gaza. We disengaged from the Gaza Strip to address their territorial grievances. They went on attacking us. The conflict is about the existence of the Jewish state and not about the creation of the Palestinian one. Any territory that was delivered to them after Oslo became a safe haven for terrorists.
"Bearing that in mind, to conclude that after the [recent] military operation in Gaza this is a time for another withdrawal from Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] is irrational. If we withdraw now from Judea and Samaria, we might face another Hamastan."
It seems as though Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon is asserting that world leaders such as Obama and Kerry, who clearly "conclude after the [recent] military operation in Gaza this is a time for another withdrawal from Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] - are irrational."
Minister Ya'alon apparently thinks Obama and Kerry are "irrational" because any Israeli "West Bank" withdrawal will allow the establishment of a Hamas rocket state that will eradicate Israel's main central population centers with short-range easily transportable and smuggled rockets. To Israel's Defense Minister, Israel's enabling Hamas to easily destroy Tel Aviv "doesn't make sense," or is "irrational."
Hence, Mnister Ya'alon is puzzled, and labels Obama's 'West Bank'-retreat thinking as "irrational," because he can't understand why Obama' would want to enable Hamas to fire rockets into Tel Aviv from the 'West Bank'.
I, however, submit that Obama and Kerry are very "rational" and highly intelligent. Obama was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Law Review in 1990. Kerry graduated Yale, class of 1966. I submit that Obama and Kerry know full-well that a 'West Bank' Hamastan rocket state will try to obliterate Israel. Obama and Kerry are not "irrational" at all. Quite the opposite, they simply are Israel-haters, and they most "rationally" believe a 'West Bank' PA State will destroy Israel.
I also submit that Obama and Kerry are not the only "irrational" ones. I believe the entire Israeli leadership is irrational for their failure to see that Obama and Kerry want to enable Hamas to annihilate Israel.

Pope Francis Says Genesis Account Of Creation Is Not True
The Big Bang, which scientists believe led to the formation of the universe some 13.8 billion years ago, was all part of God's plan, Pope Francis has declared.
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1:16,17
The Pope said the scientific account of the beginning of the universe and the development of life through evolution are compatible with the Catholic Church's vision of creation. He told a meeting of the Vatican's Pontifical Academy for Sciences: 'The Big Bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it.'
The Catholic Church no longer teaches creationism – the belief that God created the world in six days – and says that the account in the book of Genesis is an allegory for the way God created the world.
But he said Christians should reject the idea that world came into being by chance. Likewise, evolution was all part of God's plan, he explained. The development of each creature's characteristics over millennia 'does not contrast with the notion of creation because evolution presupposes the creation of beings that evolve,' he said.
"Reading Genesis we imagine that God is 'a wizard with a magic wand' capable of doing all things, he said. 'But it is not so. He created life and let each creature develop according to the natural laws which he had given each one.'
Francis praised his predecessor, Benedict, who initiated attempts to shed the Catholic Church's image of being anti-science, a label that stuck when it condemned the astronomer Galileo to death for teaching that the earth revolves around the sun.

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is to donate $50,000 (39,000 euros) to help rebuild
United Nations schools in Gaza, the UNRWA said Wednesday.
The 17-year-old Pakistani children's rights activist won the World Children's Prize in Stockholm on Tuesday, and said she would donate all of that prize money to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA said in a statement.
"Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long," UNRWA quoted Malala as saying. "We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment."
No fewer than three United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) schools were found, during the course of Israel's 50-day Operation Protective Edge, to be serving for storage of rockets for the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
After the first finding of rockets at an UNRWA school, it was reported that rather than destroying the rockets, UNRWA workers called Hamas to come remove them to use in their terror war on Israeli civilians.
In another incident, three IDF soldiers were killed and seven others wounded in a booby-trapped UN clinic that was situated on top of terror tunnel entrances, showing the complicity of the UN in Gaza-based terror against Israel.
During the course of the Israeli operation, it was Israel that was criticized, both by the UN and the U.S., for attacking UNRWA facilities. Washington called one strike on terrorists operating adjacent to a UN school "disgraceful."
The IDF proved that terrorists in several cases fired rockets from the schools, prompting the response.
Malala, who survived being shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012, was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize earlier in October, alongside India's 60-year-old Kailash Satyarthi for their championing of children's rights.
Earlier this month, Malala also received the US Liberty Medal and pledged her $100,000 award to education in her homeland Pakistan.

Don't American Jews Realize They Are All Klinghoffer?

An elderly, crippled, wheel chair bound Jew by the name of Klinghoffer was thrown overboard from a cruise ship by Arab terrorists about a decade ago. Klinghoffer's only crime was that he was Jewish. These facts are uncontested and well-documented.
Nevertheless, in the name of artistic freedom, a play was written that justified the murderous deed and intimated that Klinghoffer's murder was really the fault of the Jewish state of Israel. Again in the name of artistic freedom, an opera was written reiterating that theme and the opera was produced and presented by the Metropolitan Opera Company of New York last week.
It seems that all of the musical critics are in agreement that it was not a great opera, artistically speaking. However, in today's completely politicized and overwhelmingly anti-Israel and anti-Jewish intellectual world, the Metropolitan Opera Company of New York felt impelled to produce this second-rate work in order to make a statement regarding its own political agenda and skewed worldview.
There was a protest mounted against the showing of this opera by some Jewish organizations in New York. However, the Metropolitan Opera Company, using the shield of artistic freedom uber alles – just as the Jew haters on university campuses use the shield of academic freedom to dispense their poison – naturally defended its production and in fact was proud that it engaged in such a groundbreaking venture.

Since when does the US Administration send condolences to a criminal's family?
I know it happened in the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri. Now it is happening in Israel after an Arab youth who hurled firebombs at passing Israeli cars in Judea & Samaria, was killed by security forces. The Obama Administration sent official condolences to the family of this young terrorist when, as part of a violent mob, he endangering the lives of Israelis.
Any country must adopt an unquestioned zero tolerance to growing deadly violence and terrorism. But the attitude of an American Administration is troubling. Would it, I wonder, have sent condolences to the family had the perpetrator of firebomb attacks been an Israeli-American, and the intended victims Arabs? I doubt it. I suspect the Administration would have harshly condemned the act, the perpetrator, and Israel.
Enough, already, of this political incorrectness!
But where is this biased animus coming from? I strongly suspect it is coming from the top of the present US Administration, from Obama himself.

If we were honest, that is the sole word which would be used to describe Jeffrey Goldberg's latest transparent hit-piece against not just Binyamin Netanyahu himself, but all Israelis who "dare" harbor the notion that sometimes Israel doesn't have to dance to America's tune.
In it, Goldberg - a key advocate of the Israel-as-an-American-vassal-state model of "pro-Israel" - begins by informing us how an unnamed but "senior" Obama administration official chose to describe the Israeli prime minister: chickens**t.
You can almost feel Goldberg shudder with pleasure:
"Over the years, Obama administration officials have described Netanyahu to me as recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous, and 'Aspergery.' (These are verbatim descriptions; I keep a running list.)" he gleefully informs us (does keeping a detailed list of the epithets hurled at one specific world leader also qualify as "Aspergery"?)
"But I had not previously heard Netanyahu described as a 'chickens**t.'" he continues. "I thought I appreciated the implication of this description, but it turns out I didn't have a full understanding. [That's Goldberg-talk for "let me tell you what to make of this."] From time to time, current and former administration officials have described Netanyahu as a national leader who acts as though he is mayor of Jerusalem, which is to say, a no-vision small-timer who worries mainly about pleasing the hardest core of his political constituency. (President Obama, in interviews with me, has alluded to Netanyahu's lack of political courage.)"
Naturally, like a vindictive little child in the playground, Goldberg then "ran this notion [i.e. that Bibi is chickens**t] by another senior official who deals with the Israel file regularly", and one from whom he presumably knew he would receive the "right" response to fuel his story.
Surprise surprise, he was not disappointed: "This official agreed that Netanyahu is a 'chickens**t' on matters related to the comatose peace process, but added that he's also a 'coward' on the issue of Iran's nuclear threat..."
The crux of this sophisticated and objective article comes right at the end, with Goldberg warning that as a result of the perception within the Obama administration that "Bibi is a chickens**t", "the White House will be much less interested in defending Israel from hostile resolutions at the United Nations, where Israel is regularly scapegoated. The Obama administration may be looking to make Israel pay direct costs for its settlement policies."

Here is another unfamiliar result of Operation Protective Edge: the Israeli defense establishment will reduce the production of weapon systems in the USA in the context of joint Israeli-American projects, and will rely more heavily on Israeli-made products. Under a veil of secrecy, a decision has already been made at IMOD not to enable the production of at least one highly sensitive weapon system on US soil, despite the fact that the manufacture of said system in the USA may be funded through US defense aid instead of being paid for in NIS with Israeli taxpayer money.
The Israeli defense establishment will also intensify the manufacture of Israeli missiles that can substitute US-made munitions. The decision, in itself, will not have a substantial effect on Israel's security status, but it represents a major trauma in US-Israeli defense relations: things that had been taken for granted until Operation Protective Edge, like the fact that Israel could always count on a US airlift of ammunition in a time of trouble, are no longer certain at all.
The cause of this trauma was, naturally, the decision by the USA not to enable the shipping of ammunition to Israel during Operation Protective Edge. The story was revealed for the first time by Wall Street Journal, which reported that a shipment of Hellfire missiles for helicopters was withheld, based on US sources.
The full truth, revealed here for the first time, is much more severe: apparently, during Operation Protective Edge, the USA had completely stopped all connections with Israel's defense procurement delegation based in the USA. For days, no item whatsoever could be shipped. The expected airlift of US ammunition never even arrived at its point of departure.

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin continued his first official visit abroad on Wednesday, meeting with Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz in Warsaw.
In his remarks, Rivlin stressed the importance of the Poland-Israel relationship.
"It is a great honor for me to visit Poland, and I am most fortunate that the first event that I have participated in as President, outside of Israel, was of such importance to the Jewish and Polish peoples in particular," Rivlin began. "I have followed closely the developments in Poland over that last two decades, also in the framework of the European Union, and I know that when we speak, we understand one another."
"Poland's influence in Europe is very important to us," he continued. "It is a democratic country, returning to its democratic roots, and which understands that you cannot maintain a state when it faces an existential threat."
Rivlin emphasized that Poland, to Israel, is a "moderating factor in Europe" who is crucial to deflecting misconceptions about the State of Israel's right to exist.

The protest has been held and the Death of Klinghoffer will go on. The fat terrorist will sing, the media will chant his praises and the old sad story of failed Jewish activism in America will go on.
After the behind-the-scenes lobbying and the ignored letters to the editor, a protest rally fronted by two out of work Republican politicians brought more attention to the Met's pro-terrorist opera without doing anything to actually stop it from going forward.
Rudy Giuliani, the protest's marquee name, wrote an article expressing his admiration for the composer, called the Met's cancellation of HD broadcasts a "harder and more courageous decision than is recognized by those who oppose this opera" and promised to continue patronizing the Met.
And if hard-hitting rhetoric like that doesn't make the Met shake in its boots, I don't know what will.

Abe Foxman will soon be retiring as head of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). American Jewry owes him a tremendous debt of gratitude as the most respected and effective communal voice against anti-Semitism. Abe is also a gentleman, beloved by all who know him, myself included. The jury is out as to whether American Jewry will produce someone with as much media clout to fight anti-Jewish bigotry.
But the ADL got it wrong on The Death of Klinghoffer .
To be sure, Abe's efforts were well-intentioned. Seeing a looming battle between the Jewish community and the Met Opera over Klinghoffer , he brokered a deal where Jewish communal protests against the opera would abate in return for the Met's cancellation of the planned telecast of the opera to theaters nationwide.
Respectfully, it was the wrong time and wrong place.
Here's why.
In 2012 I received a phone call from a close friend who is a leading PR guru in London telling me that the National Theater had decided to produce Klinghoffer . Not being Jewish himself, he was astonished that the Jewish community in the UK was silent. He asked me to write a column in protest and said that he would get it into a national daily, which he did.
The rest is history.
The opera was performed with barely a whimper from the Jewish community. And look at where we are today in Britain, a country which is easily the most hostile to Israel in all of Europe, which is saying a lot.
